Recent comments from Dr Paul Williams from Griffith University sees him already consigning the ALP in Queensland to Dante’s Inferno when he suggests they might give up hope with “a dismal 31% primary vote”, as noted in the latest Galaxy Poll.
The margin between the LNP and Labor’s primary vote has actually narrowed since the last election, with Labor holding a projected two-party-preferred lead of 51-49 per cent.
As for One Nation, it snatched 6% of this state’s LNP vote but only 2% from Labor at the federal election last year.
If, on these figures, Dr Williams is suggesting Annastacia Palaszczuk should contemplate electoral suicide, he may as well ask the LNP not to compete.
